The Accordion Concertina was a very popular instrument during the nineteenth century. The Salvation Army in several different companies used it in their bands. They were also used in performance all over the world. Also, Germans who immigrated brought the instrument with them, and that spread them around even more. The popularity of these instruments declined, though, in the twentieth century. This is because the accordion sort of took its place and started become really popular. Also, other instruments, such as the piano, were then able to be mass produced, so that also led to the decline of the concertina accordion.
